Spała is a well-known holiday resort on the Pilica River in the area of the former Pilicka Forest, now the Spała Landscape Park. It has good climatic conditions. In its vicinity, hunting took place, in which Polish kings, Russian tsars and presidents of interwar Poland participated.

The town hosts three cyclical events of a nationwide character: Presidential Harvest Festival, Hubertus Spalski and Spalski Fair of Antiques and Handicrafts. Currently, Spała is known primarily as a center of sports, recreation and relaxation.
